Q: I saw an instrument on your social media feed that I'm interested in! What should I do?
A: Message us or comment on the post right away. Our inbox is always open, and someone will get back to you shortly.

Q: How do I know if I qualify for an instrument?
A: There are no requirements to qualify. We operate on a basis of mutual respect and trust, so you will never be asked to provide proof of income, housing, or any other personal information to Helpin' Aht. If you feel that you would benefit from our help, then feel free to contact us.

Q: How does Helpin' Aht pick a recipient?
We want everyone to have an equal opportunity to take an instrument or piece of gear that speaks to them. We do, however give priority to certain people in certain circumstances! If multiple people request the same thing, priority is given to people who:
- are LGBT+
- are in recovery
- are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity
- don't already have a working instrument
- are requesting an instrument for a student or minor
- are part of a community organization
If none of the people requesting the instrument happen to fall into one of these priority categories (or elects not to share that they do!) then someone will be selected at random.

Q: I have a physical item to donate! What should I do?
A: If you are able to travel with your item, please message or email us with a photo of your item and someone will get back to you shortly about a drop-off time. We're entirely based out of our home, which is in Squirrel Hill. If you are NOT able to travel with your item, please get in touch with a picture of your item and your location, and one of our helpers will get in touch with you about picking it up.

Q: I have an item that's not in the best condition. Will you still take it?
A: We are often able to take damaged items. Please get in touch with photos of your item for us to assess.
